Lions in Action

Family Transition Place had an emergency.  Their freezer was giving up the ghost and it was an integral part of their daily requirement to feed up to 30 residences.  What to do?

Family Transition Place contacted the Orangeville Lions Club.  Within a matter of days the club had purchased a new freezer (an upright unit much better suited the FTP's needs), arranged for club members to deliver the new unit and remove and dispose of the existing. (including removing the environmentally sensitive freon before disposal).

Living up to the motto of "We Serve" is a matter of great pride to the Orangeville Lions Club and it's members.  Partnering with Family Transition Place in their time of need is a great example of this service.

Family Transition Place's mission is to stop violence against women and their children.  This requires many initiatives that involve all segments of our community.

Since 1985, Family Transition Place has provided a number of services and activities to end this violence: shelter, legal information and support, counselling for individuals ... enforcement and protocol initiatives ... education and prevention ... petitions and other actions for legislative and social change.
