2007 Joint Lions and Rotary Club Meeting

On Thursday June 14, 2007 the Orangeville Lions Club joined with representatives of the Amaranth and Shelburne Lions Clubs and the two Orangeville Rotary Clubs in a joint meeting of community service organizations.  This is the third year that Lions and Rotarians have gotten together to share ideas as well as update each other on major activities and accomplishments of the clubs and to enjoy the fellowship of like-minded, service oriented community members.


 
This year’s special guest speaker was Bob Baynham, President and CEO of the Headwaters Health Care Centre, to discuss inequitable government funding to the local health network compared to other areas of the province. 


The other highlight of the meeting included the presentation of a Helen Keller Fellowship to Orangeville Lion Dr. Wally Pugh PDG for his work in assisting Lions provide necessary assistance to the those affected by hearing and hearing/sight impairments.
