Orangeville Lions in Action

Being involved in the Orangeville Lions Club gives our members the opportunity to be engaged in many activities.  These include business meetings, community service activities and of course the opportunity to have fun.  Please see the following pictures for a flavour of what it is like to be an active Orangeville Lion.

Outgoing 2008/09 Club President Lion Doug Schild is recognized for his leadership by incoming 2009/10 President Lion Dave Baker at a year end event for Lions and their spouses.

The table is turned on Lion Tail Twister Dan Roach, whose position is responsible to create excitement at club meetings.  Club President Doug Schild presents Lion Dan with his own personalized Montreal Canadian hockey jersey (unfortunately Dan is a dedicated Boston fan).

Members of local Lions and Rotary Clubs meet during a 2009 joint meeting to discuss service needs in the community.  Sitting at the head table are (L to R) Cathy Harvey (Orangeville Highland Rotary), Skip Redpath (Amaranth Lions), Doug Schild (Orangeville Lions), Cherryl Harvey (Orangeville Rotary) and Dale Hawerchuck (Guest Speaker).

Lions Jim Harrington, Dave Baker, Terry Sullivan (L to R) and event chair Wally Pugh (absent from the photo) braved the elements to ensure the Orangeville Lions Club was well represented in the 2008 Orangeville Santa Claus Parade.  Much appreciation is also extended to Jim Braden for supplying the horses and wagon for the event.

The Orangeville Lions welcomed their spouses to their Valentine's Day meeting and dinner.  Following the club meeting, a number of participants ventured over to Theatre Orangeville to view a live theatre presentation.

Lion Roy Bryan, Past President of the Orangeville Lions Club, locates the gavel that went missing during his tenure.  Roy was good since the gavel originally disappeared and his request to Santa resulted in a special gift package delivered at the Club's Christmas dinner.
